Default Re: TruSTART GAINS MOMENTUM WITH ACCUTIME

Someone brought up pro tree racing as always having true start makes a good point why it works for big money bracket racing since both racers are hitting the same top yellow essentially a pro tree using their electronics. Not so for pro, street, stock and super stock.

Slower car gets a clean tree - advantage.
Faster car has to concentrate as the slower car passes the tree and/or a long wait - disadvantage.

Faster car has the race in front - advantage.
Slower car has opponent running it down needing to judge rate of closure or blindly trust the dial - disadvantage.

Looks to me like it's pretty even with each having some disadvantage.

Being the slower car is way harder than having the race in front of you (have done both) - Faster car advantage.
Faster cars tend to be easier to dial and more consistent - faster car advantage.
With very low HP cars hitting the tree is very difficult as well as hard to dial - slow car disadvantage.
Very high HP cars (small tire cars deep in the 9s and quicker) don't always hook and can be hard to dial - faster car disadvantage.

Even with the disadvantages of the extremes true start sure seems to give an advantage to the faster car in a true full tree race other than red lights (.010 and worse) when the driver essentially left before the bottom yellow.
