They are pretty common across the industry in northern Indiana. You can take a tour of the Newmar plant in Nappanee and they are very evident across the whole production cycle. I took a tour of ATC’s and InTech’s plants this fall, also in Nappanee and while they have completely different manufacturing approaches InTech had many more Amish working than did ATC. Just up the road in Middlebury in the Entegra Motorhome plant you see more Amish in the cabinetry department, which is a bit more common. Many of the RV cottage industry type places claim exclusively Amish woodwork. Will say they seem to have great work ethic, I asked around (was up there 7 days getting some paint work) about their culture. Take great care of their horses but like my horsepower in larger doses (prefer our smells over theirs too).
Side note: Anyone considering ordering a trailer, MH or Toter should take a tour of your top picks, very worthwhile. Also, while up there I took in a Mopar/Ford event at Martin, MI, have always heard about US131 and rightly so, great facility.
