The OP may be prepared to cross the border but just in one more tidbit. Going into Canada last summer with a cashier’s check made out to recipient and the agent thought I should have disclosed ( there’s a limit on the amount of cash you can carry). They were polite but a bit of a delay to get it squared away. Bringing race car (year of car dictates what you’ll need) back across and the U.S. agents helped me complete all the required paperwork to augment the bill of sale. FWIW I’ve visited Canada on business and pleasure many times and never had a big issue, we’re taking our RV to Prince Edward Island and then on to Banff this summer with our grandson and really looking forward to everything but filling up with diesel...ouch.
