I see your point that it can't hurt. I just don't see it helping a lot either.
I see where you'd have a bit of a different clientele after a while. The guys who can never qualify will just quit wasting their money, and the guys with 70-80 under cars, who can't make a bunch of points meets, will start going again.
They can always run slow, once they're in, too.
I like the qualified field idea but for a different reason.
