James you are right I'm dreaming !!! I'm dreaming of a day when we don't have to race to the one thousand foot mark when there is a heads up. Or after trying to make your car (in a performance class) go as fast as you can. Only to lift at the thousand foot mark not to go 1 under. If I thought the cure was to have the AHFS in play at Indy I would be all for it. Maybe you should go look at this years qualifying for Indy. 159 of some of the best cars and only 23 ran 1.20 or more under. And more than half of them were FS cars. A few were either one off cars that not many run and as they say either are under factored or in the wrong class. Unlike you I've been to Indy many of times. Won class in multiple cars and have been to the barn many of times going as far back as Paul Harvey Ford. The last thing I would do at Indy is get my combo HP. Some may be willing to do that but anyone that has spent the time and money and has won class multiple times in my opinion would be nuts to. Indy has had years when the air has been pretty good in the early morning. What if that Mass guy you like so much goes to Indy next year and runs 1.20 under in your combo. So please with this past years numbers tell me how you think putting the AHFS in place at Indy will be the cure. You ran almost 1 under 5 years ago there. How fast could you go now? The AHFS needs to be tweaked. It has been the same since it was implemented. Barry
