Re: Stocker in Super Stock
"...Don't understand the reason for this post you can run your car in any class or eliminator it legally fits."
Don't have a dog in the hunt.
But, I'm enjoying this thread. Until last season, I didn't know a Stocker could switch over & run SS, without changes.
Then I noticed that Lindy Lindholm ran his Bird(which was stolen) in SS, & a late model in Stock, at the same race.
As long as the safety rules are met, I don't see a problem with it. Due to the bracket-like, dial-your-own nature of non-heads-up races, as long as the Stocker can run the SS index, it has just as good a chance of winning as the quickest SS car has.
Maybe THAT'S why some guys who have spent LOTS of money makin their SS car super quick don't want cheaper-to-build Stockers running SS.
But, I can't really see any difference in running against a slow, low buck SS car, than running against a Stocker that is quick enuff to run it's SS index.
What's the problem with it ? Should NHRA stop it, because some of the quick SS guys don't like it ? Would like to hear more opinions about it.
