If this is correct, its beyond me why they would not allow this for both safety and ease of use concerns. They are worrying about blinders being a safety issue, and here you have guys flipping switches everywhere on the track....
If how I explained wiring it would not work, let me know.
Otherwise, I dont see how they would say no..... if they see a wire ( and it would be very easy to see) going from linelock up and under the dash somewhere..... well there you have it. If someone wanted to tie into the linelock it can still be done now, with their rules without them seeing it without following the wire out to the solenoid.
My thinking is that this would all be exposed and very easy for them to check without stepping into the car....am I wrong?
Seems like the way they allow it to be NOW, would give more of a chance to hide stuff with all the wiring and switches that are being mentioned. Further down a guy mentions how he does it and is using two toggles..... one for the burnout, and then another he turns on I think he said....after the burnout, but then has to turn OFF going down the track.
Another very good option to the guys they think may want to hide boxes, is that you do not even get a second chance. If a hidden delay device is found, your out and can't come back. Period.

Mark,
All I can tell you is that I asked several very specific questions of a couple of NHRA tech people, and was told the same thing. The rule, as currently written, allows for ONE switch, ONLY, mounted on, or activated by, either the clutch pedal on a stick car, or the brake pedal on an automatic car. I wanted to put a switch on the car to disable the two step if the car was not in 1st gear. There was no way to do it under the current rule. I think the rule is wrong, but it is the rule.
