I expected that but was going to make a removable cover so after I move the carpet out of the way I can remove the piece of the tunnel to gain access to the shifter and allow for removal. This piece will also cover the shifter but will be wider at that place on the tunnel. Basically cut it at the drivers side floor up to and just past top center where the normal shifter hole is and forward some. Bend a piece removable metal that I can take out and put back in. This is how the Fairlane is. Is this not allowed anymore? 90% of the tunel will remain intact other than some bending maybe.
