Re: Darrell Zimmerman & Wayne Lewis
I'll never forget the first time I met Darrell Zimmerman. He was helping our division director Buster Couch at the '74 Gator Nationals. He came over to chat with my old partner Roy Davis and I and a few other racers including Bobby Warren who had built the engine in our '65 Nova which, BTW had beat Rickey Klarr in class to make it into the final eliminator. My first impression of Darrell was that he was a real nice and genuine man and though I didn't see him very much through the years, when I did, I always looked on him as a real asset to NHRA and the racers in his division.
A good man who will be long missed by many.
May peace be with you Darrell.
