Re: Camping World announcement
My Grandfather was very successful in the Lumber and Timber business in Arkansas and East Texas. He retired and dissolved all his business in 1969. I was 19 at the time. I had shadowed Papaw from the time I could walk around the mills and wood yards and cruise timber. He had an old buddy that hung out with him and was his best friend. He had been very successful in retail and retired early. He always had very interesting sayings about business. He had one saying that I heard back in the late 50's that preceded the Convenience Stores of today..
He said: Put your product out where people can see it, feel it & steal it, You will sell it. He would have fallen in love with Buckee's.
Just one of the many I learned and took into my own business was:
Don't mix Politics or Religion with your business.
Maybe times have changed or do they need to change back to what I learned from an old Jewish guy in the late 50's and 60's? Why alienate your customer base and potential customers?
