Default Re: Is Sportsman Drag Racing Changing?

I liked this article John and wish I had a S/S legal car to run these events. I think it is cool for the sport to get new events going other than Div or Nat events. As a middle aged guy with limited time to race, the idea of spending a min 3 days to race for only 'one' race (like a div) is not inviting. 2 races in one weekend is interesting, for a big purse makes it more interesting. I think the local association STK/SS races are really cool too.

It seems like the 'turning point' you mention is different for different racers. More interest overall, or people moving from other classes to STK or S/S, or is it getting more young people in the class, or is it just the current STK/ SS racer getting more respect in the forms of bigger purses. IMHO, more STK/ SS races and events is a good thing.
