I bracket race but a lot of my competition is from NHRA legal S-SS cars. I have it after the regulator under the hood. I've seen it done on the cheep with hardware store fittings and $100 billet aluminum stuff that leaks. Long story short: if it's in the book, you need it. Checking it is up to the tech.
