The problem with commercial fittings is that they may leak because the seal or "O" ring material may not survive when exposed to fuel and if you have an EFI system, they may not hold the higher fuel pressure.
If you have an EFI fuel system, that exceeds 60 PSI of fuel pressure, then you need the Aeromotive Sampling valve.
The Saf-Air fuel sampling valves are FAA approved and used in general aviation and affordable and even sold with a hose by RJ Race Cars. They have a brass and stainless steel version and have Viton seals.
