I always shift on RPM.

In the case of my SST car; it's slow and heavy. I wouldn't be on the stop long at all if I came off in high gear.

In SC, I do have an unconventional setup but it would work well coming off the stop in high. I just can't stand to lose all that MPH. I went 184 in St Louis with just over 1000 hp. I bet most guys going 184 have 1250+.
