Default Re: Congrats Scott Macy

Congrats Scott!! (LOL!!) - my boy made me proud! Yeah - it was only a three round race, but it was the top 8 in the World, the best of the best. Really makes me feel like Hottie Scott can hang with the best of 'em after winning that kind of race.

Scott was "done" on Thursday night after the driveshaft he found ended up being too short and possibily bent as it was creating a horrible vibration when he made a test pass at Piedmont. As usual he needed a swift kick in his arse and a little push of determination - turns out Ernie had one in his Demon that would work - so Scott headed to Troutman Thursday night, back home, and had it in the car by 1:30am. This was after working till 10-11pm at the shop all week to get the rest of it back together. It's nice when you get a big payoff after all that hardwork. That seems to be the way things go for us, the more crap that blows up, falls off, goes flat, won't start, etc the better we do. I guess what they say is true, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger? What doesn't kill your race car makes it stronger? Whatever....

Want to say thanks to the Sloans again - had Scott not got the Volare back to tip top shape in time they were going to let him run Hillarey's car in that race. They're great people.

And how about a shout out to our new good luck charm, Kacy Macy!! She loved meeting all her new drag racing buddies over the weekend - she did very well with the racing - the big boys running didn't bother her, but she's not a big fan of fireworks. It's remarkable how much she favors Max, in apperance and personality, Scott got a little emotional when he came back after a run and she was laying there waiting for him just like Max would have been. So she got her first ride in the race car and dog snotted up some windows. It was a good weekend
