Default Re: Tracking Ian

D1 said they were going to make a call yesterday on the event and plans but, decided to hold off till today at noon to see if the storm will move or slow down enough to attempt to race. Friday had actually started to look good but, now has gone back to 50%.

I know it falls on where to put the event now if it gets cancelled, the amount of rain projected (1-2 inches) will make it tough and probably force a rebuild of the track surface. VMP schedule is pretty packed the rest of the year with big $$ bracket races & PDRA events, it would suck to cancel VMP D1 race because we're already losing the NE next year and with new sanctioning bodies coming up, we need to keep those tracks happy in D1 but, don't think many will attend with fuel & weather forecasts looking the way they are. One other option could be to cancel all together, you know this was a bonus race for us in D1 this year, we normally only get 7 per year but, got spoiled with 8 this year. Yes, it sucks for those who missed a race because of planning to go to other but, mother nature can be a real b----- at this time of the year.

Atco also has a big .90 & Stock/SS event next weekend with points championships on the line for both series which would put Dave & I in a tough spot to reschedule as Atco is packed the rest of the year. My thought would be to see if Maple Grove wants to turn the Dutch into a D1 Regional Race or maybe a Double like at Numidia...Open Thursday / Friday and D1 Race Sat & Sun but, I'm sure Dave has all his papers and phone at his hand calling and weighing out all the options at hand. Had to throw one more obstacle at Dave before he sails off into Retirement.....lol
