I had my S10 headers done in black cerakote back in 2018. The prep is KEY including the media used to blast the headers, along with cleanliness. Mine are not perfect due to the person's inexperience that did them, but the cerakote is holding up perfect.
Previous headers on my Camaro were nitroplate, and they still look good, also.
No issues with cerakote so long as they have experience.
