Re: Ed Fernandez passes
Boy, sure sorry to hear that news. Just thought about him the other day because I was nearing a date when I would be near NJ again.
I got to meet Ed about 4 years ago when I was attempting to put together a similar type of stocker AMC. He welcomed me to his house, fed me really good, and we talked for hours. He offered up advice freely on the combo and wasn't afraid to question a lot of things I had done to the car. He was stubborn and outspoken, but certainly genuine, and what posts you see from him on here can clue you in to the kind of guy he was. Ed loved racing, loved being the underdog, and loved his country. New Jersey--maybe not so much.
He helped me out a lot in various ways, not all of it had to do with racing either, luckily I was able to do him a good turn or two on old Rambler parts I had to get his station wagon project onto the street, and I will miss him. My condolences to his wife who was sweet as could be, and to his family.
