The Central Intelligence Agency has long been out of control, answerable to no one, and freely operating outside its charter, which forbids any operations within the United States. It has almost certainly been attempting, and often achieving, "regime change", within the United States, for about 60 years or so, by all sorts of nefarious means. The media has been a willing co-conspirator, as have politicians of both parties.
