I've noticed several tracks have more light on one side then the other. If they don't light up the tree then it's like looking at a back dark spot, when trying to find the bulbs. I would suggest having your headlight functional, if not already. What I did was leave them on high beam and angle them up and out slightly so that they would hit the tree. It's not as good as a spotlight but it will help knock off he glare. Even if you don't have headlight you can install some driving, spot lights that will look good and function. Hope this helps.
