Unable to decide which combo to go with I eventually went with a Gen 2 Camaro I purchased from a soldier from Fort Bragg, NC. After several PMs with Billy and one with Dwight I went with the ‘81 Camaro 267-2V combination for U/SA. Post 37, pg. 4. With Billy’s advice, and with help from 2 of my sons, Tim and Matt, Doug Hobgood, Jeff Flores, Doug Smith, Bill Bogues, and my good friend Mike Moller, this car has run a best so far of 14:19 @ 92.74 mph. .65 under the U index. Working with the Rochester dual jet carb has been a challenge however Doug Smith built one for me that works just fine. This past year added a Tim Sloan Metric 200 and an Ultimate Converter from Lenny Crouteau which really woke this combo up. She may be slow, but having a blast running this car and she has more in her. Gonna keep thrashing on it and special thanks to all of the above friends who made this all possible with me.

Since this thread has been revived I have an update on my 267 combo. As of Oct. 2023 I have run a best of back to back 14.00 @ 93.63 mph and 93.40 mph respectfully while testing at the day before the start of the D2 Rockingham Divisional. .85 under the U/SA index . Air was decent but not stellar that Thursday. Qualified for the first time in the top half of the field the following morning with a 14.09 @ .75 under. I had never tried radials on my car before and thanks to my good friend Bob Kelliher who lent me pair the car went .08 quicker with just tire swap. Been having a blast with my slow stocker, only drawback is how much the weather change affects how she runs with that little dualjet carb !
