The racers with the Best Losing Package in R -1 and R-2 will each receive $500 in honor of Jim Meador. I’m calling it “Meador’s Cheddar” and I hope somebody with a story to tell about Jim can claim the prize in each round.
Best of luck to everyone who can attend. Bring your memories, and bring your A Game. And thanks for supporting PMR Racing.

Carl, before we start the Combo today. a great thing you are doing in memory of Diamond Jim Meador (and for us all here, wish you were here also brother!)
But, I do have an old story for you, I raced Jim a couple of times in the early 90's at Carlsbad, and talked a bunch with him and heard more Tham a few stories, both racing and music related, but the 1 of course I remember most, I think he would agree was most meaningful to him was that I was a third round victim to him at the 1997 Autolite Nationals at Sears Point in Sonoma, CA Summer of 1997. Leaving first my .006 to his 3 thou better. 003 (yes my last race against him he also hammered pff a .003 barn burner), and we went through the stripe together side by side to a barely very thin double breakout, he took the win with 3 thou between us, and I had a great albeit green but losing thin total package. He went on that day to win his first National Event, which made me feel a little better at the end of the day. He was a good man in my opinion, but if you raced him, you better have been up fully on the wheel and willing to tear the tree down because he was ready to always. RIP Diamond Jim Meador, and May the Lord bless you today and always Carl (and ty for "Meador's Cheddar" as a truly fitting tribute, and special thanks also to PMR for hosting us, MATSLV, all the participation from the Sponsors for the S/SS Combo, and the Las Vegas Strip for maintaining a first class facility as always, and still being alive as a racing surface. One of only a handful left in the west. Thinking of both you Carl and Jim.
