Bob years ago I worked at a major shingle factory back when I was young, our shingles were ground up and used on Texas Highways as road base. Yes there is a costs, however if you own a business that can be written off of your taxes at year end. There are clever ways to do it, just need the intestinal fortitude to do it. Oh and we donated the scrap shingles, contractor already had a grinder that ground them up into small chips.

Paving and concrete companies always have batches that may not meet a customer spec, that could be donated. Yes there will be associated costs, but like Baytown several events sportsman racers had to be pulled out with dozers!
