Don't mess with the handle unless you have some patience.
Used Super Lube silicon grease as the assembly lube
Soaked the cable in trans fluid for a few days
Re installed making sure alignment and adjustment are as instructed.


Initially my impression was the spring that pushed the rod/disc up needed to slow down but with bench testing and in the car before and after the shift lever needed to speed up. That must be why PPP states most problems are in the cable.

Perhaps an upgrade is called for. Looks like a lightweight cable with standard Morse ends. Should not be hard to accomplish.
