As a Canadian who has imported multiple US cars into Canada, you will run into trouble trying to cross the border with just an intention to recross into the US and no paperwork to back it up.

In essence, the car would have to be transported "in bond" to satisfy Canada Customs that the vehicle will be returned to the US as promised. This normally requires the services (paperwork) of a Customs Broker or a transport service that can issue the bond.

Might be best to choose a different route to reach your destination.
