I am equally fortunate to have been with COMP Cams for almost 16 years (now the Edelbrock Group). Shortly after I arrived, Chris Douglas approached me about the idea of handling the contingency program for the group. Conversations with Chris and Scooter Brothers stressed the importance of the sportsman racers and their support, and ours for them.

I came in when we had Gordon Holloway, Tim Cole, Gary Henderson and Chris Padgitt. I still have Dean Harvey and David Page as a couple of the original sportsman support guys that I traveled to events with and continue to do so with along with a few new guys. It seems odd to refer to them as new with 10+ years with the company. I've benefited from all the racer relationships these guys have had for decades and I am lucky to have a group that continues to support the sportsman racer.

I tend to get a lot of the credit because I process the contingencies and send the checks, but the program doesn't work without the people that support me, be it a coworker behind the scenes or a racer in the pits.

I hope to see you guys in Gainesville and Belle Rose.

Scooter, Gordon,Tim, and Chris, those guys were/are good friends, and Billy Godbold, too.
