Re: Where are they now ?
Kenny:
I posted this under the "events" a couple of weeks ago, as a reminder. There is a reunion each year in October in Henderson, North Carolina where a Large group of east coast racers from the early days of stock/superstock, pro stock, racing get together for a whole week-end. There are alot of the old cars which have been restored and are on display that week-end. The drivers/owners of some of the cars are on hand. To give you and idea names like Herb McCandless, Sam Carroll, Hubert Platt, Max Hurley, Phil Bonner, Tom Sneeden, Jim & Allison Lee, Kenny Warren, etc.
There is a big classic car show on Main Street in Henderson along with drag race cars, stock/superstock, pro stock, funny cars and front engine fuel dragster, cars like Sox&Martin, Motown Missile, Hemi Honker, Grumpy Jenkins Monza, Kenny Warren's '70 Challenger funny car, Jim & Allison Lee top fuel dragster and many, many more.
There is a Hall of Fame induction on Sunday at the Convention center. Bred Kepner is the MC and the stories that you hear as the inductees accept there awards will bring back memories. I don't know if Steve is familiar with this event and you can pass along the information. He would have a good time.
