Re: minimum weight
maybe not retarded, maybe just a victim of our fabulous educational system... 66 Coronet SW with a 383/325HP, NHRA rated at 280 HP for stock depends on the trim of the wagon.
Coronet Deluxe has a shipping weight of 3913 and a break of 13.98. It is a natural L (13.50 to 13.99). NHRA allows you to run at the bottom of your natural class so in L your minimum weight is (13.5*280)+170= 3950 lbs (the 170 is always added for the driver). NHRA also allows you to go up or down one class from the natural class. So you can also run K at a min of (13.0*280)+170=3810 and M at a min of (14.0+280)+170=4090.
Coronet 440 6 passenger has a shipping weight of 3936 and a break of 14.06 while the 9 passenger has a shipping weight of 3949 and a break of 14.10.
Both the 440 versions are natural M (14.00 to 14.49) and could also run L at 3950 lbs min, M at 4090 lbs min, or N at (14.5*280)+170 = 4230lbs min.
Hope that helps you out!
