Default Goodyear Radial Slick Burnout Procedure

I recently went from M/T ET Drags to a set of Goodyear Radials and I am having trouble finding the "right" way to heat the Goodyears up. I run a 4.88 gear with a TH350 so I have been doing burnouts in second gear until I can see a fair amount of smoke rolling out from the fender and then pulling out of the water box under power. The ET Drags would grab hard as I pulled out of the water, however the Goodyears seem to keep on spinning and never really grab out of the water.
I am wondering if there is a "trick" to heating up the Goodyears for peak traction.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Chad
