Re: An Idiots Guide to Super Class Racing
Everyone keeps talking about changing the class to make it easier for the spectator to understand. What ever happened to the class being for the racer? I don't know about you, but I can't see much of the spectator's $10 entry fee going much farther than into the track owners' pocket. At least I know that a percentage of my entry fee will be paid back to the racers. And the racer is who the classes should satisfy.
If the number of spectators is dwindling, it's not because they can't understand the .90 classes. It's because they've finally realized that drag racing is relatively inexpensive and they're on the other side of the staging lanes now racing their own cars.
I've always said that in stock car racing there are a bunch of people in the stands watching a few cars on the track. In drag racing, there's a few people in the stands watching a bunch of cars race.
