This may not be politically correct, but I couldn't care less about the spectator in the stands understanding what it takes to go .900 and win. Comp is the same way. When you've spent the last 2 hours watching the pros, a bunch of 9 second dragsters doesn't exactly hold the average spectator's attention. There are too many super class racers for NHRA to just abandon them, although it wouldn't surprise me if they did. I would rather see TD be a 6.80 to 7.20 open bracket race which gets rid of the throttle stops (ban them in the class) and still have fast enough cars handicapped somewhat closely together. I think a lot of .90 racers would be interested in that format. Just my .02 cents.
