Default Re: s/s legal crankshafts

When I bought my Scat the standrard deal had a knife edge. Getting one like it without the knife edge was going to cost another $500.00 because it would be a custom order. Wesley says it is OK to grind the knife edge off, and form a radius like the rule permits. Much cheaper. I wish I had ordered one now, so I could get the small journals and .010" or .013" added stroke. If I have this one reworked I'll likely have more than the cost of a custom shaft.

You might talk to John at Bullett cams. He stopped to visit at Memphis and told me he was doing cranks also. If I had known I would have gone to him first time. I think I read where Woodro used him also. John knows what is and isn't allowed. The price he gave me was $100.00 less than I paid for the one I have. Hindsight, right?
