Default Re: 03/26 & 03/27 Race #1 & #2 at Coastal Plains Dragway

Coastal Plains Raceway Park Dragway Race #1 & #2 results:

First off we'd like to thank all of our racers & crew that were supportive of our decision on Saturday & stuck it out with us for Sunday! Y'all are the real MVP's! Now to let everyone else know what happened on Saturday, CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association administration/officials & racers decided to combine Saturday & Sunday's race into one race on Sunday due to track conditions on Saturday. Sunday was a new day with different track conditions & they were great. Thank you to the hard working staff of Coastal Plains Dragway. We did complete our Warren Engines sponsored Dash for Cash on Saturday & the winner of that was Mike Moller. He was dialed an 8.44 & ran dead on his dial with a 0.

Now onto the big race day where everything was doubled. Jim Morgan won Sunday's portion of the Warren Engines Dash for Cash. Mr. Jim ran a 6.621 off his 6.62 dial to earn him an extra $100.00. We had 34 cars make the 1st round call. Mr. John Meinelt from Florida received the 1st Round Best Losing Package courtesy of Victory Lane Golf Carts. Steve Lucas received the 2nd Round Best Losing Package sponsored by Renegade Race Fuels & Lubricants & received 10 gallons of PRO 112+ fuel. Korey Alexander & Dan Fletcher were the semifinalist. Sterling Simmons is probably glad Jeff Longhany gave him a place to sleep this weekend once he decided on Friday he wasn't coming. Jeff told him to load the car on the open trailer & come on to support CCRA. Sterling took the bridesmaid spot this weekend against Mr. Mike Moller in his "Slow Vehicle Ahead". Mike used his .077 RT, dead on 6 on his 8.38 dial to be victorious over Sterling. It was about tip for tap off the tree as Sterling was .078 but ran a 6.622 on his 6.57 dial.

Korey Alexander also won The Paul Bunyan Best Reaction Time award sponsored by Auto Plus Service Center for his .007 RT in Round #2. Lee Truell will be receiving this week's Hard Luck Award given by McLawhorn Racing. He lost a motor during his Round 1 win & couldn't return for R2.

We also did some raffles on Saturday to help racers try to recover some of their expenses. We did 2 complete raffles for weekend entries with Sterling Simmons & Brent Pozzi receiving their $200 entry fee back for only $10. We did 1 ¹/² raffles for membership fees. Lee Truell won the $200 & Scott Tilley received $100.

We will be back in action this weekend at Farmington Dragway for Race #3 & #4. Hope to see everyone there!
