Default Re: 2021 .90 Nationals and Top Shootout

As we put the closing touches on the 2nd Annual .90 Nationals I just want to say a quick THANK YOU to all the racers who made it out this past weekend to run with us. We all know we had a lot of races for you to choose from on this holiday weekend (Numidia, Indy, Yellowbullet, Norwalk, Bristol) and sometimes things don’t always fall the way we hope for them too. I appreciate you all towing to the track to support this event!! Anyone who knows me, knows that I don’t like to not finish events but, I also have to look at the safety aspect, do we all want to race, of course we do because we’re competitors (hence why I had all 20 racers left in competition Saturday talk it out in the tower) but, the main part is everyone loaded them into the box right side up to race another weekend at nights end and left with more money then they came in with. Sunday the weather did a complete 180 on us Saturday Night and went from 20% when I went to bed at 12 to 70% within 6 hours and with prep for the Nationals beginning today we couldn’t push it to Monday...and of course it’s sunny and 80 out today.

So a few questions have been asked? What about 2022? Will there be another .90 Nationals? I can say right now the plan is to have one next year, it might be combined with another event as I know there are so many weekends in a year to plan stuff and I have to tip toe around the NHRA events to not schedule on top of them. I have already received word that POR 15 will be back as title sponsor for 2022 in whatever we decide to do.

Will is be a stand alone event? Yes it will most likely be .90 and Top & Top and maybe one other class but, it won’t be jammed packed like it was this past weekend so we can enjoy the time at the track, finish in time and enjoy time with fellow racers?

I also talked to Jason at POR 15 about the added bonus money that was put up and we have decided to roll some of that over to the final .90 race at Maple Grove on October 2-3rd, so look for an announcement this week.

Everyone enjoy your Labor Day and thanks once again for supporting this event!
