Cool What is wrong with...

I have raced Stock for over 30 years. Rules have changed come and gone, many times.
Mufflers come to mind, Transmission shields in cars with no trans brake.
Roller rockers, solid lifters, The list goes on & on & on!
Many of these changes came under the vail of "safety".
While others came from technical advancement, and to keep the cost of our "entry level class" in check.$

However, the things being proposed, as of late, truly have me truly questioning just what direction "stock" is all going?

Where is the only thread holding Stock eliminator together?
What has happened to the consistency and integrity with regards to the grass roots fundamentals of STOCK ELIMINATOR as a class?

As for the technical end of thing.
I am in complete disagreement of giving any single combo, horsepower, without a standard "tear down" Tech Inspection. I believe this to be a far, FAR more important issue that needs to be addressed, long before the need of an "air shifter" or a
"Stripe taker."
All that stuff is just cannon fodder loaded in a barrel that is pointed right back at you.

If we lose what little bit of "Stock" that's left, well then ol' 1320 racer might just be right... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Good Day?

Stock is just the name of the eliminator and a set of rules that you have to follow. It does not mean the cars are completely stock. Rule changes are inevitable. I have been racing in NHRA for over 45 years. Started in Modified and moved to super stock and have been racing there ever since. There have been lots of rule changes since then. None of those changes have really hurt the class in any way. Typically the rule changes are asked for by the competitors themselves. There has been lots of safety rule changes as well. Some of the rule changes have been asked for to possibly level the playing field between older and newer technology. Seems it just a natural progression.
