Questions w/ running Alcohol?
Of course we know im the noob im the board. I'll also be opening another post for advice.
 But Dragsters/cars running on Alcohol, what is the going rate per gallon in the Southern States (FL,etc) Also do most tracks sell Alcohol at the pumps? If not where do you get it from? |

METHANOL ? M 1 ? M 3 ? etc? |

Shesh, I know their are a lot guys out their running alcohol noone wants to educate the newbie?
I need to learn because a lot of the dragsters im seeing for sale are runnin on alkly! |

My fuel guy sells Hank Thomas alcohol for $200 a drum with top lube.

By the drum is the best way & the way most people deal with it. You go through so much volume you need a lot in hand. Some tracks do sell it by the gallon & most don't include lube & usually more per gallon.
The price is up. More down south than up here in Ohio. It is like $160 a drum up here & $200+ down there. I run with a Rons set up & it will run on any kind of methanol. Use top lube if your not going to drain the system weekly. I hope this helps! |

Thanks Steve for some input.
What is top lube? Is that in the fuel mix? Or something you have to add? Is it cheaper to run a dragster on alky or race fuel? Also on most dragsters in 8 second range on alky how much fuel could they burn in one pass? How long do you think a drum would last pass wise? How often do you have to change the oil when running alky? or plugs? It would prob be a 460 bbc. |
