He was the number 1 qualifier by four tenths, wonder why he didn't lift at 1000ft?Probably still would have been the number 1 qualifier.

I wasn't there, but maybe he DID slam on the brakes at 1000 ft and still went 1.57 under.Too bad we don't have a trackside reporter on this.

Trackside report here. . . infact, we have the time slip, he ran Tony in the clean up, after the 25 mph. wind died down and the sun was off the track. Tony picked up .23. He said he was even with him up to the 1000 foot, then it was like he hit the nitrous button. We will have another time slip after second round as Tony runs him next. And I have to go, got a heads up with Charlie Bob next round!

Yesterday, Dave told me he was fighting a bad miss on saturday. He changed his spark plugs and the miss seemed to go away. He said the car seemed to be on a killer pass so he just stayed in it. He said he did not know it was going to be that killer!
Dave also said he is the only guy in the country running that combo.... so he thinks he is "only hurting himself". He says it should cause him to carry another 130 lbs after the HP hit. My math says that -1.58 without the 130 lbs in that weather will still be a pretty stout piece after adding the weight. Great run Dave! Tom
