The nhra has announced the acquisition of its entire assets by the china investment corporation or cic. www.china=inv.cn/cicen/
This acquisition is to take place immediately with nhra transferring complete control of its operations as of april 1st 2014.
The new president of nhra,Mr li keping stated "the acquisition of nhra by the cic is a long term investment that will maximize our returns while maintaining a rigorous approach to managing risk."
Mr keping has announced that the current nhra schedule and rules will be maintained except for the cic's creation of a new division,division 8 which would be located in beijing china.
Mr keping stated that "all professional and sportsman racers must attend one race in the division 8 region in order to maintain any points awarded during the 2014 season"
