"Live" from Atlanta 2016

Well we are on our way! It has been a way too exciting day today! A tornado hit about 10 miles from where we live. Everything is fine at our place, but Stock racer Jerry Bennett's son Mike, business was hit. From the videos on tv and online, it looked like every car on his lot was damaged. Just thank goodness nobody was hurt. A lot of structures were damaged, but no lives lost.

Then we get on the road and catch up to the tornadoes! It is really scary driving along and I keep getting tornado warnings for the county that we are in on my phone!

So anyway , we are driving for a while yet, then should get to the track by noon or so tomorrow ! Just got a text from Alice and they are # 12 in line!

Patsy, the CBS Evening News led with tornado video from Shelby Motors and it looked like Bennett's place was right in the path. Amazing footage, downright scary. In any case hope you're well on the way...with tornados behind you the only remaining chaos is I-285 around Atlanta. Good luck this weekend, look forward to following Live Timing during class eliminations. Weather even looks halway cooperative.

We got as far as north GA last night before we stopped for the night. If you are coming down I-75 south of Chattanooga and plan to stop at the Welcome Center, it is closed. Construction there. We are now about 45 minutes from the track. Will post more after we get all set up.

Well we got here about lunch time and have spent the rest of the day getting caught up with old friends. I think they stopped parking about 5 so there are quite a few rigs out in stacking tonight.


We went to lunch at the little restaurant close here to the track. Here we are with Alice and Joe! We had to put a little lard on the guys to get them out of the back seat!

Well tomorrow is tech day and it is supposed to be hot again. Today it was 89 and supposed to be that again tomorrow. Then the rest of the week is a little cooler and mostly sunny with little chance for rain!
