Default GT vs Traditional SS

I'm sure this may be answered somewhere in the forum, and I apologize it so. How much difference would one expect if you take say a 1st gen Camaro or Chevy2 lower hp running GT and put the running gears in an 82 up Camaro or Firebird. Same GT class, weigh and equal prepared cars. Indexes in GT lower than traditional SS at same break for some classes. Example 14 lbs/hp class 11.85 SS and 11.75 GT. Would the better aerodynamic car make up the tenth?
