whats with the pre-stage and stage lights flashing at vegas? have not seen this before.is this the new normal going forward? looks distracting as hell !!

I believe this is a four wide racetrack, and since they are using two lanes, this would be the norm. But you would think they would fix it

It is just a phenomenon seen by the TV camera. The refresh rate of the LED's and the shutter speed of the camera are out of sync which causes that flicker / rolling effect. To the driver, there is no flicker and they look solid.
