Just a thought, my pitmate at MG, had a major blockage caught in time with a physical that he needed for his license......It was thought provoking for me.....
Yes its been many years since most of us had to get that bi-annual ok from the doctor to go play, and then with Covid, etc. I hadn't been to a doctor for a physical till last year for like 8 years, till the end of last year, and I doubt I'm that unusual. 5-10$, nothing significant, but if it saves a few it would be worth it. Nothing and I mean nothing ruins a day at the track when someone passes away, from either a wreck or a medical event.....Still not being required of course, just a OPTIONAL physical. Now everyone can get back to the AHFS and head ups creativy threads! Eric

Eric great post back in 2018 I passed out in my foyer after mowing grass, got rushed to the hospital left artery blocked 99% right blocked 80% had some surgeries and had to change lifestyle.
Sold race car in 2019. If I would have done annual physicals I would have caught it. Only by the Grace of God did I make it, he was not ready for me yet...LOL |

After 50 men need a physical every year, with ekg, echo cardiogram, blood work, plus endo/colonoscopy every 10 years, this'll make you 'live long time'.

We all know a lot of us are stubborn when it comes to going to the doctors but, I have heard on numerous occasions that the yearly check-up that was required has actually saved numerous people's lives and discovered things that would have been very serious if not caught at that time.
I'm 43 and still go get a yearly check-up each year no matter if it's required or not, I have a family history of issues that I'd rather stay on top of things then have them get me by surprise because I didn't get a simple 30-minute checkup & blood work done. |

I read this post and then I read it to my wife and said somebody had the same issues as me and then she said that it’s you and I looked at the little picture I couldn’t remember Eric‘s name but when I saw the picture of the truck I was like you’re right it is about me we were parked next to him at Maple Grove and I told him a story. Some of my close friends know the story but maybe I should have shared it with more people. I race super gas since the stoped physicals I hadn’t had one. Feel like I’m pretty healthy been playing softball you have a strenuous job. Friend of mine Cal bought a top sportsman car and so I had a chance to license in it. So I went and got physical and the doctor said my EKG had a little blip on it which was probably nothing but go see a cardiologist he said it probably was nothing but since we’re family history let’s do a stress test and about four months went by taking a different test finally got a catheterization test. At this point even the doctors at the hospital said that I had no symptoms that I would probably be all right and then after the test they said I had 99% blockage on one and my widow maker of the most important one was 80% blocked they wanted to do a double bypass right away set up and feeling pretty unlucky but most people point out that I’m pretty lucky that they caught it before anything happened and if I wouldn’t of had a chance to get the top sportsman license I don’t know when my next EKG would’ve been just thought I’d share it with y’all.
