We were thinking of going to this until I just realized the race is with a big dog race. Honestly I've never been to a big dog race, but what I've heard about the atmosphere at one leaves me a bit apprehensive about being there. Sorry guys, just being completely honest with you.

Angela, we had a S/SS Combo at the Big Dog race prior to the Pro-Am a couple years ago, and there were no issues. The fans are very appreciative of Class cars, and it was a great opportunity to run in front of packed stands.

I guess I should go to one so I can get a better idea for myself what it is like.....whatever that Night of Thunder thing was at Carolina Dragway's divisional race last year made me uncomfortable too, and I feel like that is probably just a milder version of a big dog race?

I've just gotten the impression that the "fans" would be very appreciative if we left some stuff out they could take while we were on the starting line. We were at Mooresville one time and a big dog car showed up to test - it was just a weekly points race, nothing special going on. They parked beside us on the left side of the track - they locked their entire operation up before they went to the staging lanes - I found that odd until I remember they're big dog racers and the crowds at their normal racing is much larger, just a habit of theirs to lock up everything. And by locking everything up I mean they put the ramp up, locked it and the side door of their trailer.

This was the same excuse you used last year when we held it on a BigDog. We had a ton of S/SS cars and they put on a great show. The crowd loved it. There wasn't a single racer who had anything stolen from their pits/trailer during that event. Actually since we took over, nobody has had anything stolen during our bigdog events.

Why don't you come as a spectator and see what the race is like, then form your own opinion. To come on and bash our race because of some "safety" issue that hasn't existed since we bought that track isn't fair.

It was the same excuse Mikey, I'm normally a very consistent predictable type gal. You know Scott Macy is a die hard drag racer and doesn't typically make an excuse for not going to a drag race anywhere anytime. If he's not going to a race then that is really making a statement. Remember we race 40 plus weeks a year, most times Saturday and Sunday if not Friday too. We'll go come to any of your Stock Super Stock races you have when our schedule permits, but we'd prefer they didn't coincide with a big dog race.

Sorry to come off as bashing your race because I'm not, I'm bashing the environment at a big dog race that I have been told about (which could be an exageration, what do I know). I happen to feel like my "excuse" is a legitimate one though. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, I was just bringing it up in case I wasn't the only one, you guys might then consider keeping our races seperate. I was actually looking forward to coming over there this weekend - it'd be nice to race closer to home on Saturday - take it easy before the next hectic weeks.

And on an end note - where did I mention a "safety" issue? I don't recall typing that but yes, it was something that factors into my opinion as there was someone who go shot there many years ago. Why not tell me more about the environment rather than jumping on me for expressing my opinion - how many spectators are typically there? You mentioned you haven't had an issues since you guys took over - what extra steps have you taken to have created no issues? Do you hire additional security? How much more security? Do you keep the spectators parked away from the racers pits? If you'd give me a better sense of security then I'd consider coming over there and forming my own opinion. Is that fair?
