I guess that would save the money of building a new motor...............I'd be done. But I doubt there is any truth to this rumor.
However if there is.........Hello NMCA/ORSCA

Why does everyone have such an issue wih eigth mile racing? Is it any less competitive than the quarter or does it take some of the skill out of racing? I doubt as many people will quit if this has any validity because not enough of us have the stones to stick together on issues. Just look at how the payouts for class racers have not changed over the years and how the NHRA cut out the number of races the different classes can attend. If they do change the length of the tracks racers will continue to race, may of you here will.

I see all these complaints about a rumor of NHRA going to an 1/8 mile format yet no one can answer what the problem is. I personally don't give rats behind how far it is as long as I can race.
Everyone on here has an opinion and mine is racing the eigth mile puts alot if emphasis on the driver, you can't depend on the track making up something you lost at the starting line. Where I am from the 1/8 mile is king. It doesn't matter to me; I said it before and I will say it again, more people will stay than leave. People are not going to sell their cars like people think especially with the way the economy is. And another thing alot of guys are gonna want to get that win so if there is a chance they can get a easy win they will. I guarantee Biondo, Bertozzi, Fletcher and all the other big names will not be pulling out of racing if this pans out. |
