Once again it looks like a hurricane may affect a race in La. I was hoping to leave for La. tomorrow, but better judgement is telling me to stay put for now. If anyone has an update on this race, please post. Thanks...Lee B.

We are wondering too. This am the weather map showed it heading west toward Houston, etc. Haven't heard anything since. Red River's weather forcast shows 20% and 30% chances of rain though the weekend. The race track message board shows the race taking place.

I'm afraid all the predictions of rain are going to keep us from making the 500 mile trip. We will just have to see all of you Division 4 guys at Memphis in a couple of weeks. Good luck to everyone who decides to go.

I've been checking on the status of all this several times a day. I'm just north of Houston, so I have to try to cover all my bases. I've been in contact with Craig, and he says, that he will make a call on Thurs. After predictions that the storm was headed more towards S.Tex., an hour ago they moved it more towards me. I've contacted our family friends in Shreveport that we stay with, and their report is that it's 40% of rain on Sun. simply because they don't know which way the storm will go after it hits. Bobby Brannon could give us an update on that scenario.
With that said, I'll give you my forecast (I've been here all my life). I think the race is safe. Now for those of us coming back, that could be a problem. Another problem is the Ennis race. Improvements have been made, but massive rain could make it a problem.

I have been told that the RACE is still on.. They are saying that 40% rain for Sat/Sun. but that is because of the storm.. It rain Tues pm and and then the sun came out. This morning is overcast but dry. It just a day by day guess at this point.

Their website has a mesage from Molly that they will make a decision about running the race at 9:00 am Thursday morning. Saturday forcast is up from 305 to 50%, Sunday lowered from 60% to 40%.
