This car has a real long crank when hot . has 36 lbs fuel pressure and runs fine once you get her going. When cold it has a long crank some times .Any ideas , i hate to go out of town with it . Mike

I don't think 36 psi is enough fuel pressure. If memory serves correct, Chevrolet specified 42 psi, and it usually tested well above 50 during cranking.

I was afraid it would be the pump. I don't think its easy to get it out ,and i don't want to cut a hole in the floor. thanks for the input .......... Mike

I had the same problem with a 97 Z28. Replaced the pump, now it starts instantly. The pump isn't to bad to replace. It took about 2 hours.
