OK you Mopar experts. Is this ad on Racing junk for real or just a sales pitch? Did it really come on a 273? Not trying to start anything, just want to know. I can't remember anything like it. I stumbled around in the NHRA site & didn't see anything about it. Could it be one of those hidden options?

D/Darts came with a the same cast iron manifold as the 235hp models except it was bored out for a larger carb (basically the same size as the Max Wedge). It did not come with the two fours as shown.
That manifold was bought from Edelbrock and was used on the various FX versions. Koffel took the Hemi out of his '65 SS car and put a 273 with this manifold in and ran C/FX with it. Jim R

Larry,
I had forllowed that thread & that is what had me thinking this was BS. Those D-Darts were only 1- 4 BBL, I thought. The pictures in this ad is a 2 x4 BBL.. ????

Yup! The BSometer is maxed out! My dad's Dodge dealership had one of the original D-Darts and I won my first trophy with it at age 15. Single four barrel only! A cast iron factory manifold as stated above. Jim

Are there any 273/235 hp Ply. Valiants or Barracudas still out there running Stock? Back in the day, a friend ordered a 273/235 Formula S '64 Valiant convertible...4sp, 3.90 sure-grip, Goodyear Blue Streak tires, dk. green w/blk top---a real nice rare little car that went real good....Anyone still campaigning any of these cars??

Bill Bushmaker ("WILLY B" Div. VI long-time MoPar racer) has built a '65 Valiant for his daughter, Angela .
It's a K/SA car that has been running for a couple of years, now. It usually qualifies somewhere in the middle of the pack. I think NHRA lowered the factor on that 235 OEM-rated engine to 210 horsepower back on 6/30/08, making it a natural "J" car, but she runs it in K/SA. She ran it at the national event in Kent this weekend. It'a a red, '65 Valiant 2-door sedan. I love those cars... Kudos to Bill and Angela for campaigning such an unusual car!

My friend's little Formula S, 4sp Valiant convert was the 1st and last I've ever seen....Thought it was a '64, but could've been a '65....I can remember at least 2 of the Valiant 2 dr sedan 235 hp cars that ran the old (and now gone) Div. 1 tracks in New England area. Very cool and very rare little cars...Thanks both Bill and Jeff...
