In my 85 Mustang Stocker, I use street gears in the 8.8 rearend, as I am unaware of any Pro gear availability for this rearend. I tore up most of the pinion teeth of my 5.13`s in about 150 passes, although my current clutch is a bit too aggresive, and has a steel flywheel. Higher ratios with more pinion teeth seem to hold up a fair bit better.
By comparision, my Fairmont bracket car has a Dana 60 with Pro gears, after 8 seasons running low 10`s @132mph (1.29 60 foot best), the old gears still look great, and were changed only for a ratio change. The Fairmont also has a Jerico , with a Soft Lok and aluminum flywheel.

Same as Rory. No Pro gears made for the 8.8. I wish someone made them though.

So which is stronger, more teeth on the pinion or less? I know they make a 5.13 for the 8.8, and a 5.14. The 5.14 has less teeth on the ring and pinion, so which would be the better choice?

Normally the more teeth on the pinion the better. When I ran 4.88`s in my Mustangs 8.8, there was 1 extra pinion tooth than the 5.13`s. I had twice as many passes on the 4.88`s before we went to 5.13`s, and they still look fine. That said, on some diffs, notably the 8 3/4 MoPar, in the steeper ratios, the ring gear teeth get very short, and don`t seem to hold up near as well as larger teeth found on the "taller" ratios.

So if a 5.13= 41 & 8 tooth count, and a 5.14= 36 & 7 tooth count, then 5.13 is the better choice?

I think the 489 case 8 3/4 has a 4.88 pro gear available.

I knew a guy with a 340 Dart w 4-speed and Dana 60. He changed from a pro-gear to a street gear with same ratio. He picked up several hundredths in ET. At the time I think the car was a low 11 second car. He's presently a machinist at Eaton Enterprises.
