does any one know if any person has ran the 401 aluminum heads on a 71 chevelle, 454/425

Not 100% on this, but I thought the 401 heads were a replacement for the square port closed chamber heads. The '71 454/425 (LS6) is a open chamber motor.

True 401 head is ok for the 71 454/425, and True the 401 head is used for replacement of the Square Port Head,Closed Chamber. But it is a open Chamber head. i bet they would help, get that 70 lbs off the nose of one of those boats, take the hood off about the same wt LOL

Yes they are legal for the 71 454/425, not really worried about weight car hooks good, just wondering if anyone has used them on this combo.
