Default Testing......

Ok, Ive already asked what some tracks in the southland, Ga and south.....are good for testing.

But what I need to know now is if I get into a pinch what track is open on the 31st (Sunday) for testing down and about that wayish (within say 500 miles of Atlanta ?)

Any info would be great, I dont know if well be done Sat for for SGMP 100% so a Sun backup plan is in order.

Cheers

Chris

Chris,

Coastal Plains Dragway in Jacksonville NC will be open for test and tune as long as the temp is 45 or warmer, which it usually is this time of year. Ave temp for end of January is about 60 degrees.

The track is IHRA sactioned, has Pro Ams once per year. Concrete surface for 300 feet or longer. Good hooking track. It's located about 2 hours east off I-95 at mile marker 121 which is one hour away from the NC=VA state line. Atlanta is about 400 miles away.

The track is sea level, quarter mile. I will be there testing my stocker, might be some others. Spend a day or two at the beach if you like as well.

Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Ga.
South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, Ga. (Valdosta)

Both excellent tracks that have hosted many NHRA points races. You can Google both of them and get their web sites and schedules. Jim

just south of I-20 near Ft. Worth at Kenedale Tx
1/8 mile lots of hook. I think Jeff Hefler is MGR Jeff may be able to rent you a few hits on the day you pass through. He's a racer and knows the drill...
http://www.dallasraceway.com/
Located east of Dallas in Crandall Tx. 1/4 mile Concrete IHRA
Nice place easy off & easy on I-20
Check their schedules. I think one is Sat and the other is Sunday.
You might also check Thunder Road... Former Red River @ Gilliam La.
north of Shreveport La on hwy 71N AHRA just took over. They did have some friday night T&T's ,but most of the cool weather T&T's were Sat-Sun.
e-mail I have is; wolfstorm88@yahoo.com
Web site is: http://www.thunderroadracewaypark.com/
Excellent 1/4 mile track. Similar to Memphis quality
If it turns out to be Thunder Road give me a call. I can be available to give you a hand. It's only 44 miles from my house/56 from shop.
Good luck hope this helps.
The "hand" will be more than applause... :~)

Chris, let me ask this . Are you going to be able to dyno before you leave? I'll assume you've got a good trans and converter.
Why not stop at Speedworld on your way? If you can go fast here ,you can go fast anywhere! Open every weekend. Let me know if I can help.

Sure, yes thats what Im leaving for Tommorow or Tue, they are in Atlanta, its a Dynapac load brake hub dyno so were going to "break" it in and test the drivetrain, make any adjustments that need done, trans, and check other "chassis" items.

"Zee Plan" is.....The car is going to be fitted with the computer and Harness there, they already have our test mule and its up and running with the DP manifold and on that they made the harness, so 2 maps for 2 sets of headers will be done on the car on dyno with a test converter (low stall) so we can map the entire range......then we want to do track testing on Sat or Sun, the FI team is in Atlanta and was going trackside with us to dial in anything trackside or correct any issues on that, we should have a solid 2 days of Chassis testing and Dyno tuning before it ever sees the track.

So thats why I was looking for something close to Ga.....

Were coming from Ohio through to Atlants.... so Orlando is an Option but a hair far..........but the FI team wont (maybe 1 of them can) join us....thats more for my peace of mind than theirs......

Originally I was going to fly our Driver out and back to get some seat time....but thinking of it now, if its up against a wall, I can get him some seat time the weekend before his way and fly the FI guy out.....

Our converter is A1, I know what it will do in this car, its identical to another that has run very very well.......

The trans, well Im pretty sure about it, Paul at Turbo Action did it, and while not the whole shabang protrans....its close....but a 904, Phase II tranny will basically be a 904 protrans.....(thats for after Gainesville)

Why the trans question out of curiousity ?

Is that where youre out of Orlando area ?

Thanks, I MAY very well take you up on your offer.....

Cheers

Chris
